Our first year as a business has flown by in the blink of an eye. We started We Less Than Three after making the long trek from California to New York. The move itself was liberating and the inspiration provided by New York City has been limitless. One of the contributing factors to our success and drive to continue has been our connection to 3rd Ward.

The first time we entered the building we knew it was meant to be, attending one of their many ongoing and special events. We came for their Moviehouse night, where once a month they feature a film/multimedia design project, usually accompanied by a cooler full of Colt 45.  We were amazed that in the middle of warehouses, empty lots, and even an abandoned rail road track, their stood this shining beacon of creative light. We came in the following weekend for a tour of the full facilities. It took one look at the media lab and their lovely iMacs, and we were sold. Of course,  it didn’t hurt that along with an annual membership, you also get a nifty green bike, custom designed for 3rd Ward by NYC Bikes to tool around town on.

Fast forward 6 months, they’ve added even more. A free Intelligentsia coffee bar to keep the caffeine pumping through long days of work, a brand NEW media lab, and renovations to the space that we thought couldn’t be more perfect (we were wrong, it’s only gotten better). We were lucky enough to have our photo featured in their Summer 2010 magazine, which is what prompted us to write this little love note about them in the first place. It’s something we should have done long ago, but as we’ve said before, better late than never.

Well, geez guys… Where has the time gone? Our last update was about the new year and it’s already almost May! We hope you don’t think we’ve just been sleeping through the winter. Our version of hibernating means staring at computers ’round the clock from inside our work den, taking gulps of fresh air every now and again, and then snuggling right back up to our monitors.

Now that spring has finally arrived, we’re ready to come back out into the world. We’re ready to join the social media ranks, the picnicking Twitter-ers, and the concert-going Facebook users. Oh yes, we see you all updating away on your smart phones, all the while we’ve been shackled to our desks…

You’ll notice we’ve updated our portfolio page with some of the projects we’ve worked on in the past few months. We’ve been fortunate enough to partner with some like-minded entrepreneurial folk, which always gets our engines revving! Check out the robust and intelligent WMC Guide from Nightlyfe.com, that We Less Than Three helped design and develop. We also did our part to help boost the economy by partnering up with ChicFiles, a new comparative shopping site that is sure to have you pulling out your Amex Platinum card (um, don’t we all just have those lying around?).

Along with these projects, we’ve been working hard on developing some of our own personal projects that have been sitting on the sidelines.  We’ll be excited to FINALLY begin sharing those with you in the near future.  We know: promises, promises…

Hello World,

It’s official, we’re in the future. It’s 2010 and we’re pretty disappointed that we’re not living like the Jetsons yet. But alas, maybe we weren’t meant to live in towers above the atmosphere or be waited on by French maid robots named Rosie. Although we don’t have those things, we do have each other and isn’t that what really counts?

This year we vow to work harder, play more, and generally live life to it’s fullest. We’re going to be rolling out a ton of exciting ventures this year and as most everyone has been saying: 2010 is going to be our year!
